What role have natural resources played in the politics and economy of the Middle east?
With natural resources there wouldn’t be depression.
Describe the countries physical geography.
Lebanon is a Narrow Costal Plain. Lies on the easter side of the Mediterranean sea, a narrow costal plain.
What is the climate? Mid to cool, wet winters with hot dry summers, Lebanon mountains experience heavy winter snows.
Does this country have a fresh water supply? Yes, several large rivers, but in the summer Lebanon's water supply can be as little as 3 hours a day.
What industries does the country support? Manufacturing and Farming grapes, tomatoes, etc. -5%

Who should have possesion????
The causes of the Cold War was that Iraq, Syria, and Libya joined the Soviet camp but mistrusted the former colonial rulers in the West. Each of the allies had a super power who was selling them weapons. The United States helped Israel and the Soviet Union helped aid the Arabs. After each Arab-Israeli war the superpowers ( United States and Soviet Union) rearmed their allies with expensive new weapons. In 1967 Israeli won lots of land that the Arabs tried to fight to get the land back numerous times but failed. Israel and the United States obviously does not like the Soviet Union or the Arabs and the Soviet Union and the Arabs obviously don't like the United States and Israel. I think that the Jews should have possession of Jerusalem because it was promised to them by God.

1. What questions do you have about the reading? How might they be answered?
What policies of the U.S do Muslims don’t like? They might be answered by looking up the policies Muslims dislike.
What U.S. policies do most Muslims hate and why? If you need more information, how might you find it?
The Muslims might hate that the U.S supports Israel by sending them billions in financial and military aid.
Why might acknowledging that U.S. policies have anything to do with jihadist attacks be seen as "politically incorrect" and "blaming the victim"?
Despite a year of effort by Obama's special envoy George Mitchell to move the Israelis and Palestinians toward a negotiated two-state solution, there's been no visible progress. Why not? If you need more information, how might you find it?
I think that there has been no visible progress because the war for independence in 1948 brought the Israelis and Palestinians together to form Israel and the U.S supports Israel.

Terrorist are trying to get revenge on America due to the fact that there Women and Children are dying, and in America our Women and Children are safe. Jihadists might want to overthrow the government because they want to take over power of the government, they might want to drive israel out of the middle east because they want to take over where israel once was.

Arab governments are rising expectations and declining opportunities. The population is young, idle, and bored. Young men are set apart from socializing with Women.

Unit One, Why do they hate us?
1.What questions do you have about the reading? How might they be answered?
Why would al Qaeda want to be an organization dedicated to murder. My question might be answered by learning more about why al Qaeda has harsh feelings about America an why they believe in violence to solve their problems.
2. What is President Obama's answer? Brennan's?
Presidents Obama’s answer is that al Qaeda just wants to keep getting more Muslims to join al Qaeda so that why America has to communicate better with the Muslims and explain to them that al Qaeda offers nothing more then bankrupt visions, misery and death.
Brennan’s answer is that al Qaeda uses a banner of religion in a very mean and corrupt way to attack America.
3. Thomas was clearly dissatisfied with Brennan's answer. Why? Would she have been satisfied with the president's? Why or why not?
I think that Thomas was dissatisfied with Brennan’s answer because Brennan didn’t clearly explain here reasoning of the situation. I think that Thomas would have been satisfied with the presidents ansqwer because Obama clearly states what he thinks America should do to settle the dispute between the U.S and the Muslims or al Qaeda.
4. Why does Glenn Greenwald think it important to consider terrorist motivations? Do you agree? Why or why not?
Greenwald thinks it is important to consider terrorist motivations because we can’t just give justification to the Muslims. I agree because we cannot just give the Muslims what they want in order for them to be satisfied.

I would answer Thomas’ question as, Hasan, Abdulmutallab and others commit such acts because they believe that Jews and Christians want to destroy the Islamic region and the Terrorist believe that they should kill us before we do any harm to Islam, and America cannot let that happen.
